Drama with Capers for Kids!
The children create ships and planes, castles and caves, or whatever setting might be needed. Using costumes and hats they act out the characters while the teacher tells the story. They practice listening and following the sequence of a story. As the players become comfortable, they begin to improvise the dialogue as they build self confidence and social awareness. Through this wonderful process they develop language and communication skills, sensory and emotional awareness, and problem-solving skills. With an emphasis on plot structure and characterization, older children create and improvise their own original dramas.
